Commodity Watch: Aluminium futures fall on lower participation

New Delhi: Aluminium prices dropped Rs 3.20 to Rs 342.90 per kg in futures trade as participants trimmed their positions amid a weak trend in spot markets.

Aluminium for delivery in April fell by Rs 0.92 per cent in 219 lots. Analysts said the cutting down of positions by participants on easing demand from consuming industries mainly kept aluminium prices lower.

Copper futures slip on subdued demand

Copper prices fell Rs 27.85 to Rs 1,144.70 per kilogram in the futures trade on Thursday, weighed down by muted demand in the domestic spot market. Copper for April delivery slipped 2.38 per cent in 1,340 lots.

Zinc futures ease on weak trend

Zinc prices fell Rs 4.25 to Rs 311.60 per kg in futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market. Zinc contracts for April delivery slipped 1.35 per cent in 203 lots.
